Joyce Fruge, 84, a wife, mother and former Adrian Dominican Sister, died Jan. 7.

She was the wife of the late Derby for 30 years and the mother of Martina (Will) O’Sullivan, Ronald (Jeanette) Fruge, Vincent (Lauren) Fruge, Gerard (Rosalyn) Fruge, Cynthia (Roderick) Alexander, Catherine (the late Britt) Starghill; grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of many. Sister of Marilyn Grundy and Roy (Jill) Grundy.

Mrs. Fruge spent 25 years as a member of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, and was an associate of the Sisters for many years. She taught Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and was supervisor of the Maria Montessori center in Rochester.

A memorial Mass was celebrated Jan. 14 at Our Lady of Loretto Parish in Redford. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery
