Livonia — Madonna University has signed agreements with two area community colleges to expand accessibility to its bachelor’s degree programs.
On June 5, Madonna and Flint-based Mott Community College signed an agreement that would allow the transfer of credits from Mott to Madonna for four academic programs. The presidents of both institutions signed the agreements, which would streamline the transfer of credits for associate degree holders in media arts and entertainment, criminal justice, science and arts to bachelor’s programs in broadcast and cinema arts, criminal justice, forensic science and sociology at Madonna, respectively.
On June 15, Madonna signed an agreement with Wayne County Community College District to offer classes toward bachelor’s degrees in aging studies and business administration at the community college’s Belleville campus. As part of the deal, Wayne County Community College students who earn an associate degree in gerontology or business administration will be able to apply those degrees toward bachelor’s programs at Madonna, a four-year institution.
The programs will be offered at the Mary Ellen Stempfle University Center – West, in Belleville.
“We will make every effort to make sure these are enriching experiences for WCCCD students as they continue in their educational progress,” said Sr. Rose Marie Kujawa, CSSF, outgoing president of Madonna University.
With the agreement, Madonna becomes the seventh university to partner with the Wayne County Community College District.
