Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Anna Marie Lammert (formerly Sr. Ann Louis) died Feb. 23 at the age of 89 at Mother Margaret Hall, the nursing facility of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. She was a Sister of Charity for 69 years.
She was born Anna Louise Lammert on Nov. 21, 1921, in Norwood, Ohio, to Henry and Mathilda (Kessler) Lammert. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati, in 1955 and a master’s degree in 1970 from the University of Detroit.
Sr. Lammert served the dioceses of Chicago; Cincinnati; Detroit; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; and Washington, D.C. In the Archdiocese of Detroit, she ministered in education at Shrine of the Little Flower, Royal Oak (1949-52) and St. Louis in Mount Clemens (1961-70).
She was preceded in death by brothers Vincent, Paul, Cletus and Louis Lammert; and her sister, Coletta Lammert. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
