Sr. Caroline Lennox, DC, died Feb. 15 at Seton Residence in Evansville, Ind. She was 94
and a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for 64 years.
Born Sept. 25, 1921, in Detroit, Gladys Mary Lennox was one of two children born to George and Julia (Yeager) Lennox. She graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit and entered the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in December 1951. Sr. Lennox earned a degree in accounting in from the Junior College of Finance and Business in Washington, D.C.
Sr. Lennox served as a hospital business manager in many places, including Michigan, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland and Indiana. In Michigan, she served as assistant business manager at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw (1957-60), as administrative assistant at Providence Hospital in Southfield (1968-75), and as a personnel assistant at the St. Vincent/Sarah Fisher Center in Farmington Hills (1985-2000).
Sr. Lennox was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Gerald; nieces and nephews; her sisters in community; and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 20 at Seton Residence Chapel in Evansville, Ind.
Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.
