Sr. Colleen SheridanSr. Colleen Sheridan, IHM, 75, died unexpectedly Oct. 13 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit.
Sr. Sheridan was born Catherine Mary on Aug. 17, 1942, one of 12 children of Paul and Frances (Rohan) Sheridan of Detroit. In 1960, she entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe.
Earning degrees from Marygrove College and Wayne State University, Sr. Sheridan taught in the Detroit area at Epiphany, Gesu, Christ the King, Our Lady of Good Counsel, St. Brigid, St. Gerard and St. Augustine; at St. Bede, Southfield; Our Lady Queen of Peace, Harper Woods; St. Mary Magdalene, Hazel Park; St. Clare de Montefalco, Grosse Pointe Woods, and for 10 years at St. Angela School in Roseville.
In 2004, Sr. Sheridan served in the IHM Development Office in Bloomfield Hills. She also ministered as a teacher and community volunteer and most recently as special assistant in the SSIHM Archives in Monroe.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 20 at the IHM Motherhouse. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
