Sr. Dolores Daehn, OP, formerly Sr. Robert Christine Daehn, died Sept. 12 in North Shore Hospital in Miami. She was 83 and in her 63rd year in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Sr. Daehn was born in Chicago to Robert and Lucy (Stoute) Daehn. She earned degrees from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, Michigan State University and Florida International University.
Sr. Daehn taught for 56 years in Michigan, Florida, New York and the Bahamas. In Michigan, she taught subjects including music at St. Gabriel, Detroit (1953); Our Lady of Sorrows, Farmington (1954-55); St. Mary, Chelsea (1955-60); Adrian Catholic Central, Adrian (1968-69); and St. Alphonsus High School, Dearborn (1969-70). For 19 years, she served at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., as an adjunct professor and American Council of Education (ACE) instructor.
A funeral Mass was offered in St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian on Sept. 18. Rite of Committal will be in the Congregation cemetery.
