Sr. Helen Sorich, OP, formerly Sr. John Christine Sorich, died April 4 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 95 and in her 77th year in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Born in Preko, Yugoslavia, to John and Christina Sorich, she earned degrees from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian and was certified as a clinical pastoral educator by St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago.

Sr. Sorich ministered for 45 years in education in Michigan, California and Illinois. In Michigan, she taught at Our Lady of Sorrows (1940-46), St. Dominic (1946-50) and St. Jude (1950-52), all in Detroit; St. Norbert, Inkster (1957-62); St. Joseph, St. Joseph (1962-64); and Sacred Heart, Hudson (1964-70, including as principal).

Funeral Mass was celebrated April 7 in St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian. Rite of Committal was to be in the Congregation cemetery.
