Sr. Kathlene O’Donnell, CSJ, entered eternal life Sept. 22 at the age of 85.

Kathlene O’Donnell was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Highland Park to James O’Donnell and Catherine (Connolly) O’Donnell. Sr. O’Donnell entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth on July 1, 1949. She pronounced first vows Jan. 3, 1952 and final vows Jan. 3, 1955.

Sr. O’Donnell earned her degree from Nazareth College in 1968 and taught at several schools in Michigan, including St. Joseph, Lake Orion; St. Cyril, Taylor; and St. Monica, Kalamazoo. She later served in hospital chaplaincy in Minnesota and at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, before becoming director of pastoral care at Genesys Regional Medical Center. In the late 1990s, she served as administrator for the assisted living program at Fontbonne Manor in Nazareth.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 26 in Holy Family Chapel in Nazareth.
