Sr. Lynn Roebert, CSJ

26-sr-roebertSr. Lynn Roebert, CSJ, entered eternal life Oct. 15 at the age of 79.

Lynn Roebert was born in Detroit on Aug. 13, 1937, to Melbourne and June (Fehrenback) Roebert. She was a member Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Detroit at the time of her entrance into the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth on Sept. 1, 1955. She received the name Sr. Michaela, but later returned to the use of her baptismal name. She pronounced first vows July 2, 1958, and final vows on July 2, 1961.

Sr. Roebert earned degrees from Nazareth College and St. Xavier in Chicago. For 54 years, she served in education and educational leadership, as well as in parish religious education programs, including at St. Augustine, Kalamazoo; St. Rose, Hastings; St. John Vianney, Lansing; St. Dennis and St. Cyril, Detroit. She also ministered in Illinois, Tennessee and California, before returning to Nazareth to volunteer in the history room and archives.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 17 at Holy Family Chapel in Nazareth.
