Sr. Marie Beaulac, CSJ, entered eternal life Oct. 22 at the age of 87.Marie Therese Beaulac was born in Detroit on Nov. 6, 1928, to Armand and Gladys (Crusoe) Beaulac. She was a member of St. Gertrude Parish in St. Clair Shores at the time of her entrance into the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth on Jan. 2, 1947. She received the name Sr. M. Donata, but later returned to her baptismal name. She pronounced first vows July 2, 1949, and final vows July 2, 1952.
Sr. Beaulac earned degrees from Nazareth College, Wayne State University and Creighton University. After serving as a grade-school teacher for 17 years, a principal for five years, and a parish bookkeeper for several years, Sr. Beaulac spent 10 years as chaplain at Borgess Hospital in Detroit. She later served parishes in East Lansing, Clio and Wayland for many years. She retired to work at Nazareth as a development associate and continued as a Eucharistic minister at Borgess Hospital and Borgess Gardens.
A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated Oct. 27 at Holy Family Chapel in Nazareth.
