Sr. Marie Evelyn Dunn, IHM, died Nov. 22 in the IHM Health Care Center in Monroe.

Born March 7, 1929, to Thomas and Florence (Mueller) Dunn of Detroit, Shirley Ann entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monroe, in 1948. She earned degrees from Marygrove College and Wayne State University.

Sr. Dunn taught at many schools in Michigan for almost 50 years, including St. Hugo, Bloomfield Hills; St. John, Benton Harbor; St. Patrick, Wyandotte; St. Mary of Redford and St. Francis de Sales, Detroit; St. Thomas, Ann Arbor; St. Mary, Monroe; St. Paschal, Taylor and for 10 years at St. Mary in Mount Morris. She was principal of St. Patrick, Carleton, from 1975-82.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 29 at the IHM Motherhouse in Monroe. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery.
