Sr. Marie Therese Fettig, CSJ, entered eternal life April 4 at the age of 94.

Virginia Fettig was born in Detroit on Oct. 30, 1921, the daughter of Arthur and Jenny (Sands) Fettig. She was a member of St. Rita Parish in Detroit at the time of her entrance into the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Nazareth on June 19, 1937. She pronounced first vows Jan. 8, 1940, and final vows Jan. 8, 1943. Sr. Fettig earned degrees from Nazareth College, the University of Notre Dame and St. John University in Collegeville, Minn.

Sr. Fettig taught in several schools including Ste. Anne in Detroit, St. Gertrude in St. Clair Shores and St. David in Detroit. She also served as organist, choir and liturgy director for 27 years and taught music at Nazareth College. She later transitioned into religious education as a coordinator, director of adult education, teacher trainer and high school teacher. She also taught music at St. Cecile Academy of Music in Windsor, Ontario.

Mass of Christian burial for Sr. Fettig was celebrated April 7 at Holy Family Chapel in Nazareth.
