Sr. Mary Ann Dardy, OP, formerly Sr. John Marguerite Dardy, died April 21 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 72 and in her 54th year in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sr. Dardy was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Henry and Mary Margaret (Lindich) Dardy. She earned degrees from Barry College (University) in Miami Shores, Fla., and the University of South Carolina.

Sr. Dardy ministered for 12 years in elementary education in Michigan, Illinois, Florida and Alabama, and in South Carolina in religious education, medicine and liturgy. In Michigan, she taught at St. Pius X in Southgate. In 2014, Sister was elected to serve Holy Rosary Chapter of the Adrian Dominican Sisters as Chapter Prioress, but was unable to fulfill her position due to illness.

Memorial Mass was April 24. Burial is in the Congregation Cemetery.
