Sr. Mary Joseph, OP, died peacefully July 2 at Beaumont Botsford Hospital. She was 86 and in the 66th year of her profession as a Cloistered Dominican Nun.

Sr. Mary Joseph (Helen Elizabeth Fox), was born April 28, 1931, in Detroit. She came to the Monastery of the Blessed Sacrament on Jan. 6, 1950, in Detroit, and later relocated with her community to Farmington Hills. Besides her ministry of prayer, Sister served her community faithfully as the editor of the Echo Newsletter. In prior years, Sister served as prioress in Farmington Hills and Summit, N.J., as well as assisted the Monastery in Albany, N.Y. She was the beloved daughter of the late John and Margaret (O’Brien) Fox; and loving sister of the late John (late Mary) Fox and Robert Fox.

Mass of Christian Burial was held July 7. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
